Long Time No See

Sorry guys it has been awhile, but I was doing this for my computer class last semester. A lot of you on here seemed to of really liked my summaries and trailers, which I am happy for so I will start to post more stuff again soon hope you guys can bare with me :) Oh also I might be doing more summaries and trailers of all types of game coming out including PC games that will be coming out at some point in 2013.

Hybrid

This game is going to be released in the summer and is only for the 360. There has been some talk about how this games characteristics makes it seem different than other shooter games. The game itself is a downloadable, mulitplayer-only shooter that takes place in a dystopian future. In the year 2032, a large Hadron Supercollider in Australia implodes, causing a hat trick of catastrophes. First, dark matter begins popping up around the globe. Then an alternate reality merges with our own, which introduces to the world humanoid aliens called Variants. Last, but not least Earth gets stuck in a time loop, which ultimately leads to war between the Variants and the humans. This might not sound too exciting, but from what I heard this game has plenty of other aspects to get excited about like you get to choose your side whether it be the Variants or the Paladins. Each might have different weapons, but as you process through the game you will be able to have all the weapons from both sides. This game sounds quite interesting and I would recommend you guys go and check it out for yourself when it comes out. Not sure about the exact date, but it's at some point this summer, so not much longer to go.

Batman Arkham City: Game of the Year Addition

Alright fellow Batman lovers what we have all been waiting for the extended addition to Batman Arkham City. In this new extended addition you have Catwoman's DLC pack, NightWing's DLC pack, and Robin's DLC. That's not all though, there will be the Arkham city Skin and Challenge Pack. There is also Batman Year one movie Download and last but certainly not least the last chapter to the final ending of Batman Arkham city, Harley Quinn's revenge. Where we find out the answer to everyone's question. Is Harley Quinn pregnant with Jokers child? All of this comes out this month May 29th is the day and I know many of you want this game. I know I do so only a couple weeks to go!!

Medal of Honor: Warfighter

From what I've read the missions in the game are party based off of real missions that two former special forces soldiers offered about their fellow soldiers, the missions they participated in across the globe, and strategies they would employ to fight terrorism. They took all that info and synthesized the events into the lives of Preacher, Mother, and Voodoo the characters that are in the game. This game adheres closely to first-person shooter conventions. Except corridor battles, turret sequences, and on-rails vehicular chases. Sad part is that this game won't be out until October 23 so there a long way to go, but if you love war games and I know most gamers do, also if you have played the other Medal of Honor game and loved it then you should get this game. I find it interesting to see how they really put those true events into place in the game.

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

In this game you have a familiar character to help you along your journey which players can now play two player. Also the dedicated camera team set an ambitious goal of allowing players to experience the entire story without having to touch the manual camera controls. This game pretty much begins shortly after the conclusion of the first game. Everyone is rebuilding their homes until a earthquake hits the town and the Mad Doctor appears saying he is a changed man and wants the citizens to nominate a hero to help him fend off the approaching threat that caused the disaster. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit offers to assist him and takes off with him. His girlfriend Ortensia and the gremlin Gus seek out Mickey to help. Though not much is said about where this game will go, but players will visit themed Disneyland parks that have changed radically over the years. Another thing is this time when you paint an area or remove an object with thinner, the changed will still be there when you return. You might be able to go to old areas, but the creators are encouraging more free-exploration and with Metroid-style level design that will leave some areas inaccessible until you gain new abilities or keys. Junction Point Studios and Disney interactive have all hands on deck to make this the most memorable Mickey game ever, but this game doesn't come out until the fall.

The Amazing Spider-man

That's right folks there will be a new Spider-man game coming out June 26 close to when the new film is coming out July 3, but there will be on spoilers actually the events in the game are an epilogue to the movie. A few things have been upgrade in this game if you have played any of the other games. In this game just like in the new film it takes place in New York City where there is more room to roam around. If you have played Spider-man 2 you remember the web-swing, but now they took that step further thanks to the new web rush mode. With it players can slow down time and survey Spidey's environment through the eyes of his mask. When in this mode, yellow silhouettes of him appear on whatever surface or object you happen to be looking at. The Developer Beenox during the presentation demonstrated how it could appeal to fans of Shattered Dimensions' stealthy Noir levels. Sometimes if you don't want to encounter enemies many areas feature environmental objects that can do the dirty work for you. There will even be side missions when Spidey is chase by the police and you have to dodge bullets and peppering the windshield  with blasts of webbing, but players can end the chase by creating a web net between two buildings and flinging the car onto it. In my opinion I've always loved the Spider-man movies and the games. This game sounds and looks pretty cool so if you are a Spider-man fan then I would get this game.

Risen 2: Dark Waters

Alright gamers here's a new game coming out this month on April 24, Risen 2: Dark Waters. From what I read this game will make you laugh out loud at the dialogue's take-no-prisoners bombast and druken smartalecy or something like that can't say the other word; on a level you would never experience from a game before. Despite the apocalyptic low-fantasy setting, this game's vibe more closely resembles dark European comedies like Bruges than the archetypical hero's journey format that RPGs almost invariably follow. This game isn't an open world in the vein of Skyrim, though like the original it takes place in relatively large sandboxes that offer a sufficient illusion of freedom. Also the process here features choice and consequences in terms of angering or befriended characters and factions, obtaining unique rewards, and opening or shutting the doors to other storylines. The biggest issue about this game has to face between now and lauch is a stiff combat system that gives the player such a small toolbox especially early on in this game where you apparently have the combat training of a middle school chess club president so I guess we have to see how that worked out. Battles are decided primarily by the stats of yourself and your opponents with little input from your tactics or skill with a controller. Well all I can say is that if you enjoyed playing the first Risen game then you would really enjoy this one too.

The Walking Dead

That's right guys they are turning the TV/ comic series The Walking Dead into a game which is coming out this month. The main protagonist in the game is Lee Everett, a convicted felon who escapes a prison transport as the zombie apocalypse reaches critical mass. Throughout the game you will meet different characters who you can have in your group of three. In this game you can interact with your group members and answer their questions. Doing so will determine how they will react to you in certain situations. Also on objects you will get certain options like if you click on a door it will give you an option to open it or if it's lock to use a key. This also applies to certain situations like if the zombie called the babysitter is crawling after you and you're on the ground you can have the option to kick her in the face. I tell yeah this game looks so awesome and it comes out this month I so can't wait to get this game.

Halo 4

Alright guys finally done with reviews now it's time to get back to new games coming out like Halo 4. This picks up where Halo 3 left off. There will be new enemies that threaten the galaxy and some familiar foes return. An unexplored land awaits discovery, though it is far more unusual than a normal planet. Keeping with the promise established by over a decade of multiplayer innovation, Halo 4 also introduces a remarkable new vision from bring players together to play, and more importantly, keep them coming back week after week. I so wanna get this game it looks awesome and to all Halo fans out there this is what you have all been waiting for, but they only thing is it's supposed to come out on a holiday, but it doesn't say which holiday.

Syndicate Review

Alright another review this time on the sci-fi strategy classic into a first-person shooter called Syndicate. This game came out Feb 21st and got a rating of 8. The graphics of game were great with it's portal like futuristic environments, grimy under cities, and plenty of onscreen data readouts. The game itself was pretty creative even the single player story arc goes exactly the way you think it will. The game's multiplayer is co-op only, so players can actually experience meaningful upgrades. If you like first person shooter games with a descent story, I would recommend this if you haven't already played the game.

Asura's Wrath Reveiw

Asura's Wrath came out Feb 21st and got a rating of 8.5. It had pretty good graphics like the characters were drawn with a striking woodcut effect which made them look great. There was even varieties of good music that went along with the game too and kept pace with it. The combat of the game was pretty simple, but would still keep a player entertained. The game offered a unique world and characters, with great combat to keep things moving briskly. In the game you can even fight on the moon and your character has four arms to use to fight. You are a demigod getting revenge for your a false crime you didn't commit, the death of your wife and your daughter who has been kidnapped for her powers. Since I personally love anything about mythology, I would recommend this to anyone who would be interested in this. The game got a good enough rating to make even me want to play.

Silent Hill Downpour Review

Silent Hill Downpour didn't as good a rating as you might think. The rating was a 7. The concept was some what good since it was trying to return to the moody atmosphere and same combat of the past entries that resulted in hallow scares and clunky enemy encounters. The environment and enemy design looked great, but the facial animation and sloppy textures leave much to be desired. Great music, but the voice acting isn't that great. There is always puzzles in SH and in this game the puzzles were straightforward and rewarding. The cumbersome combat will have you dodging enemies left and right and even cursing at the game. For entertainment wise wasn't that many big thrills and there were only a few scares so to be honest not the best SH game hopefully there will be a better one.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare Review

This game came out back in February, February 22 to be exact.  The game got a rating of 7.75 and was only for the 360. The concept for the game was good from what I read it says how Alan Wake's mystery deepens at the expense of the engrossing atmosphere being stripped away. Wow that kinda sounds like something out of Silent Hill. From what I read the lightning effects are outstanding, and small details like the realistic movement of Alan's flannel shirt are found all throughout the game, but the world is a non-entity and does little to enhance the atmosphere.  It even had great sound to help the built up suspense. The game used licensed music at the right times to add a kick to specific combat encounters. Alan's and Mr. Scratch's (character in the game) voice work are once again excellent even the great/gunplay returns and is made better by a more powerful arsenal and a wider variety of enemy types. For those of you who have played the other Alan Wake game and enjoyed it you would enjoy this too.

Journey

This game got a 9 and was the game of the year. for its concept: cross the dessert to reach a distant peak in a thoughtful and beautiful vision of another world. Also for its graphics like remarkable sand and character animation gives the game an uncanny sense of flow and movement. The sound was also good like a standout musical score soars from triumphant highs to minimalist silence at all the right moments.The playability is seamless and simple, players of any age could pick up and understand the controls in moments. Great entertainment like an artistic tour de force of limited interactive complexity. This game came out March 13 and looks like a very interesting game so if you haven't already played it I would go out and get it. Oh also this game is only for the PS3 so sorry 360 fans.

Twisted Metal

We all remember the Twist Metal games. They will always be remembered in PS2 history. Most probably already know that there has been a newer game for only the PS3 that came out February 14. It got a 8.5 for its great graphics like massive maps, flashy attacks, and destructible environments and everything moves at blistering speed. There's songs from White Zombie, NWA and Sammy Hagar. A few things stayed the same like the classic weapons, but now each new vehicle has two special attacks. Remote bombs can now be shot forward and new weapons like the stalker and swarmer missiles operate with a simple charge mechanic and deal massive damage if timed correctly. Abilities like reverse turbo and alternate sidearms also help mix up your strategies. If you haven't already gotten this game you should from what I've seen this game kicks ass.

Game of Thrones

This game is based on George R. R. Martin's popular  A Song of Ice and Fire books (as well as the HBO series they spawned). The creators worked to together to create a new tale set around the time of the first book. Combat wise this game is like Dragon age with multiple party members that can be swapped between and various abilities on cooldowns. You actually can't pause the game to issue commands, but you can slow down the action to give you a bit more time to think your next move will be. This forces players to think on their feet and keep moving. There is also three classes to choose from like a dual wielder, a hedge knight, focus on two-handed weapons or a landed knight which use a shield and one handed weapon. There will also be minor dialogue choices, but you have to be careful a poorly though-out response to the wrong person could end in your death. The game will be out May 15 so I would recommend this to any Dragon Age fans out there since from what I seen it's a lot like dragon age but with a greater mix to it.

Hitman: Absolution

For the Hitman fans out there. There will be a new Hitman game coming out this Summer.  Those of you who are familiar with the Hitman series you know that Diana Burnwood has been one of Agent 47's handlers for as long as there have been the Hitman series. She has been given the agent numerous ICA assassination contracts.  The two weren't allowed to meet in person but there were a few times when they broke the rule and slowly building up a friendship. In this game Agent 47 is ordered to betray Diana and kill her. He does as he is told and kills her but while she is dying in Agent 47's arms, she whispers the name Victoria, begging him to find the young girl because she is the key player in a worldwide conspiracy. Agent 47 sets out to find the girl he never seen or heard of before. In the game player's will be able to approach each area using either ninja-like stealth or John McClane's brand of brashness.  As time goes on I will post the trailer until then please enjoy this. I think this game will be really good based on the pictures I've seen I recommend it to anyone out there.

ASSASSIN'S CRED III

Oh yea what many have been waiting for a new Assassin's Cred. In this game it is almost like you are shooting a movie yourself there is over two and half hours total of character scenes. Also it adds a whole new style of wilderness gameplay, but a large part of the game is still set within urban setting like New York and Boston. It includes a context sensitive stealth system. In certain situations, Connor will remain hidden when walking, allowing increased opportunities for how you might approach a target. There will also be new navigation options that send Connor leaping over moving wagons in the street or sliding under obstacles. Moving objects are now fully integrated platforms for navigation, and sprint animation automatically moves around objects in the way.  At the moment there is no news that I could find when this will come out but you can pre-order the game now so all Assassin's Cred fans better get moving.

Tony Hawk's Pro Sakter?

Well I bet most remember this game from the PS1 era I know I do. Apparently they are remaking the game in HD its coming out this summer with pretty much the same as the older games but with new added features.  There will be taking the best levels and characters from the first few games putting it into this new HD version and adding online multiplayer.  They will favorite levels such as Phoenix's Downhill Jam, the School from Pro Skater 2, and Warehouse in the game. Pretty much everything the other levels of the old game have this game will have it in the exact same place.  Also since it is a remix, players can keep their combos rolling by using manuals and other tricks in levels that didn't original support those moves. Other little tweaks include replacing the collectable tape icons with DVDs. The roaster is a mix of both familiar faces and modern skaters. Veterans includes favorites Rodney Mullen, Andrew Reynolds, of course Tony Hawk. There is also pros like Nyjah Huston, and Chris Cole.  Also fans of this game with see some of the more bizarre characters from the series such as Ollie the Magic Bum and a pixelated Tony Hawk.  In the First Tony Hawk's Pro Skater there was a variety of different memorable music but the Publisher says that the game at this point won't feature the original soundtrack, but if it's being overseen with the same level of care as the rest of the early versions we saw in action, fans would be prepared to turn their stereos up.

Another Resident Evil Game

Resident : Operation Raccoon City coming out March 20.
In this game instead of experiencing Raccoon city outbreak through  Leon, Clair, Chris, and Jill you will experience it through the eyes of Umbrella's brutal task force as they attempt to clean up the devious company's fingerprints.  In the first four missions of the game's four-player campaign allows us to get a new good feel for the brand new zombie killing and grant us a look at the malicious tasks Umbrella was doing while everyone was just trying to stay alive. There will also be some favorites like Nemesis that will be seen in this game and also if you have played some of the older resident evil games you will recognize some of the different places and people as you play throughout the game like the shifty antagonist from Resident evil 3, Nicholai Ginovaef.

New Updates (Max Payne 3)

Ok guys new game coming out in March Max Payne 3.  Apparently it was hard to come by for information on this since when was the last time we heard anything about Max Payne?  Anyway in this game Max Payne looks a lot older and once again in Max Payne's words that once again "all hell is breaking loose  around another girl I'd been trying to protect."  The game takes place in Sao Paulo, Brazil but from what I can tell in the beginning he seems to have alcohol problems and ends up pulling himself together to rescue this girl.  He apparently shaves his head and transforms into a killing machine in search for vengeance man that's something you wouldn't expect from Max Payne.  There's three different screenshots Max Payne one with him being younger and having hair like he looked in the first two games, second he's older with hair and a beard and third is the haggard, shorn version of Max that has been is most of the game's marketing.  It seems that there might be flashbacks that take place closer to the time frame of the first two games.  Also the signature "Bullet Time" slow-motion gunplay mechanics are well in place.  The gunfights look a lot better in this game and one more thing Rockstar the developers of Max Payne revealed that it's adding multiplay mode in the game little is known about it but I'll keep you guys updated if I find out more.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Review

Well we know my last blog entry wasn't much about any game besides Resident Evil pictures that I said I would post so nothing exciting so yea but today I'll be talking about Final Fantasy XIII-2.  The game as we know has been out for a bit. It got some good reviews like a score of 7.5 and the good things about it is Monster collection is fun and addictive, multiple heartfelt moments combine story and gameplay in effective ways, Caisu is a fantastic villain, and Impressive, varied visual design.  Pretty much the game it self is good I have the first one and I still couldn't beat it got stuck on one part and just gave up after the 20th time losing but anywho mostly this game is recommended to any Final Fantasy Fans and those who like this types of RPG games.

Any Suggestions

Hey guys at the moment not much new games coming out that look interesting besides the one's I have mentioned already.  I will be doing more research to find more games and such.  If anyone has any suggestions for a game they want to know more about let me know but for now here are the pictures for the characters on the new Resident Evil game that I promised.  I will also be doing some reviews for games that have just came out or have been out that look like games I would recommend.

A New Fable Game

I just discovered that there will be a new Fable game called Fable: Journeys.  From what I heard this game takes place more after the first Fable.  It seems that you wont start off as a hero since during the time of the game there are no more heroes that have been born.  In the game it seems that you have to somehow make a hero by helping out Theresa who not as old as she looks in the 2nd and 3th one.  When I find out more about the game I will post more about it for now here is the short trailer of it.  OH one more thing it seems this fable game you have to use kinect since it is a first person shooter which to me would be a stupid idea.

Silent Hill: Down Pour

To all Silent Hill fans as you know there is a new one that is coming out.  It will be out March 6th so pretty soon.  From what I read you start off a an escaped convict know as Murphy.  He has a murky history that they mention in the trailer but you probably wont find out more until you start playing it.  As you watch the trailer you see how he was on his way somewhere with other prisoners when the bus drivers sees that there is no road ahead a crashes the bus so those who have played all the silent hill games know what that means.  In the beginning part of the game though you aren't in Silent Hill yet you have to get there from the Devil's Pit so you can get help repair the bus to get out of there. That's all I will say for now and I'll let you watch the trailer to see for yourself.

Resident Evil 6

Hey gamers, any Resident Evil Fans out there?? Well as you there is a new Resident Evil game coming out November 20 so there is awhile to go.  The good news is for the first time ever Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield are staring in the same game together.  There are also two new playable characters as well one is a money-hungry mercenary whose blood might be the cure to the virus.  They don't give his name but he has a young blonde girl that joins his side.  This girl from I read might be Ashely Graham remember from Resident Evil 4?  They think she might be getting revenge for her father.  The gameplay is pretty much the same as Resident Evil 5 but with a few better changes. Both characters can now shoot simultaneously and there is higher mobility too which is good.  Oh one more thing that I forgot to mention there will be another playable character named Helena Harper that joins with Leon not much else said about her yet but I will keep updated as it gets closer to when the game comes out even pictures of the new characters and the trailer so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask because this game looks awesome :)
